On December 17, 2008, the Public Diplomacy Section of the U.S. Embassy, in cooperation with the Lao-American College, organized a cultural event called “ The Three Holidays,” to promote cultural exchange and awareness between the two countries.
During the event, the students learned about traditional American activities during three principal U.S. holidays: Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas. Students participated in a mock trick or treat, sampled a Thanksgiving meal, and made Christmas tree decorations. About 300 students from the age of 5 to 22 came to enjoy the festivities.
This event was part of ongoing co-operation between the U.S. Embassy and the Lao-American College.
