Reception Brings Together Scholars and Alumni

Public Affairs Officer Amy Archibald opened the reception.

On September 29, Public Affairs Officer Amy Archibald hosted a reception to introduce this year’s 9 Fulbright Scholar candidates and 2 Humphrey Fellows candidates to former Lao Fulbrighters in the new room at the Lao-American Center, Lao-American College.

The reception brought this year’s candidates and alternates together with U.S. Embassy officials and Fulbright alumni, including students who just returned from the U.S. The event gave the group an opportunity to meet and exchange experiences, and to set up an informal network of alumni to help establish ongoing contact with each other. In her welcoming remarks, Amy Archibald again offered the Embassy’s assistance in tutoring the candidates as they prepared for the TOEFL and the U.S. university admissions process.
