Country Singer Jesse Dayton Performance Celebrates 50 Years of U.S.-Lao Relations

Jesse Dayton Band performed on the 
Ocassion of celebration of the 50th
Anniversary of the U.S. - Lao Relations
The progressive country Jesse Dayton Band performed twice in Laos to help celebrate the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the United States and Laos. More than 1,600 people attended the concert at the Don Chan Palace Hotel in Vientiane on September 2.

In addition to singer and guitarist Jesse Dayton, the band included Elmo Sproat, Bassist; Nathan Fleming, Steel guitarist; Eric Tucker, Drummer. In addition, Ajaan Kamsuan, from the Lao National School of Music and Dance, joined the band for two songs, on which he played the traditional Lao instruments the kaen, kongvong, and sordouang. The Buffalo Band, a Lao band that Jesse Dayton heard and liked the night before, opened the concert at the Don Chan Palace Hotel.
