U.S. and Lao Officials hold Bilateral Comprehensive Dialogue

Lao and U.S. officials at the Bilateral Comprehensive Dialogue.

Representatives of the governments of Laos and the United States met on October 25 for their first-ever Bilateral Comprehensive Dialogue. Southam Sakonhninhom, Director General for Europe and the Americas at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, led the Lao delegation. The U.S. side was led by Eric John, Deputy Assistant Secretary in the Bureau of East Asian and Pacific Affairs at the U.S. Department of State. The two sides held a productive discussion on a wide range of issues of mutual concern.
