Getting to Know You Activity

Report: Bangkok PA RELO FSN Ms. Niphaporn Yamthongkam made a presentation entitled “New Ways in EFL Teaching and Learning” at the American Center, Lao-American College in Vientiane, Laos on May 3, 2006. The event was successfully organized by PA Vientiane. Specific traditional Asian ELT pedagogical approaches were examined. The content shared included excerpts from “State of the Art TESOL Essays: TESOL at Twenty-Five: What are the Issues?” Examples of many RELO Bangkok ELT projects, i.e. iEARN, Network Training, ELT DVCs with ACs, were brought up and discussed as samples of innovative ways to deal with EFL learning and teaching circumstances. “New Ways in Teaching Vocabulary: A Paraphrasing Game,” adapted from the New Ways in TESOL Series, was presented at the end to encourage the audience to participate in the interactive learning activities. The total number of participants was 35. |May 3, 2006|
