Embassy Seminar Educates Luang Prabang Officials About Trade With the U.S. (May 13, 2005)

U.S. speaker addresses the seminar
Embassy seminar on Normal Trade Relations 
The most recent Embassy seminar on Normal Trade Relations, "Trading With The United States: New Opportunities," took place in the Meeting Hall of the Provincial Authority in Luang Prabang on May 13, 2005.

The seminar was designed to transfer knowledge of how to take advantage of opportunities to trade with the United States to Lao businesses and the officials who can facilitate their efforts in Luang Prabang province. Presentations focused on how to find an American partner, how to market goods from Laos, and understanding U.S. customs procedures.

The event was chaired by Ms. Patricia M. Haslach, U.S. Ambassador to Laos; Mr. Bounheang Douangphachanh, Governor of Luang Prabang Province; and Dr. Khampheng Xaysompheng, Deputy Governor. More than 100 people attended the seminar.
