Embassy Supports TV News Production Workshop at Lao National TV (June 14, 2004)

TV News Production Workshop at Lao National TV.

The United States Embassy in Vientiane sponsored two workshops on “News and Documentary Production for Television,” for news producers at Lao National TV. PBS producer Dr. Robert Hooper, who conducted the workshops, focused on improving the abilities of Lao producers to seek out and produce interesting programs on stories important to the Lao people. He also focused his training on the lighting and camera techniques needed to produce a more professional image on the screen. Twenty producers from various provinces who participated in a workshop by Hooper last year participated in an advanced workshop this year in Vientiane June 14-18. The second workshop, for another 20 news producers from northern provinces, was held in Luang Prabang June 21-25.
