Embassy Sponsors Seminar on Comparative Politics (July 9, 2004)

Georgetown University Professor Dr. Catherin Dalpino at the four-week program on "Comparative Politics in Southeast Asia" at the Institute of Foreign Affairs

Georgetown University Professor Dr. Catherin Dalpino traveled half way around the world to conduct a four-week program on "Comparative Politics in Southeast Asia" at the Institute of Foreign Affairs for about 30 officials from the Lao Ministry of Foreign Affairs and other Ministries. Dr. Dalpino not only gave the participants a solid grounding in the history, development, political systems, and current issues in many ASEAN countries, but also brought them led discussions on such issues as trade and terrorism in the Southeast Asia and on ASEAN relations with China and the West.
