The U.S. Embassy, Vientiane, is pleased to announce that the U.S. Government has designed, built, and donated to Khongxedone District, Salavan Province, a hospital costing $212,000. The medical facility was built by the Department of Defense Humanitarian Assistance Program, and is identical to another hospital costing $176,550 that was donated to Ta Oy District in 2004. In addition to serving the people of these districts, the hospitals will also facilitate the work of recovering the remains of Americans missing since the Indochina War.
