Students Learn More About Foreign Investment in Laos

Students Attended the Talk on the Foreign Investment in Laos

More than 30 students attended the talk on the Foreign Investment in Laos by Manothong Vongsay, Director of the Foreign Investment Division, Department of Promotion and Management of Domestic and Foreign Investment, Committee for Planning and Investment at the American Center on January 25.

Manothong briefed the students on Laos' participation in the global economy, as Laos is a member of such international organizations as MIGA, ASEAN, ASEAN-Japan Center, World Bank, ADB, IMF, and has Normal Trade Relations with the United States. He explained that the government's Investment Policy includes a law on the promotion of foreign investment and foreign investment incentives to attract foreign investors. He also identified potential sectors for foreign investment in Laos, and the process of administration for the foreign investor.
