Lao American Project Sponsors Anti-Drug Teacher Training (Feb. 23, 2005)

Narcotics Affairs Section director David Wise visited LAP-supported anti-drug teacher training in Bountay district
On February 23, Narcotics Affairs Section director David Wise visited LAP-supported anti-drug teacher training in Bountay district, Phongsali province. Thirty-two primary and secondary teachers are attending the one-week training course, supervised by the provincial education office. The purpose of the course is to provide teachers with information on the dangers of opium and amphetamines that they can then convey to their students. During the visit, one teacher told NAS director that "this course is helping me to better understand the dangers that drugs pose to our young people."
