Lao Students Learn about Communities of Interest Identity

On December 12, more then 80 students from the Department of Political Science, Faculty of Law and Political Sciences, National University of Laos attended a lecture by Dr. Jim Rolfe, a professor at the Asia Pacific Centre for Security Studies in Hawaii, who spoke on “The Asia-Pacific: Communities of Interest and Communities of Identity”.

After clarifying some terms, Dr. Rolfe focused on the balance between political security and social, economic and environmental issues. He emphasized the roles of international NGOs, and Laos' potential within regional fora.
