Wilson Exhibits Paintings at Lao-American College (Dec. 10, 2004)

Artist and students
Artist Robert Wilson with Lao-American College students.

An exhibition of several dozens paintings by American Artist Robert Wilson opened at the Lao-American College on December 10. The exhibit is open to the general public, and will remain open until December 23. Mr. Wilson’s works, painted with watercolors, oils, and acrylic paints, depict scenes from Laos, the United States, Mexico, and the Himalayan Mountains. Especially noteworthy is the technique that Mr. Wilson’s used in some of the works of inserting photographs into the paintings, which then recreate the scene around the photograph. Mr. Wilson teaches courses on Art, World Cultures, and English at the Lao-American College. This exhibition was partially sponsored by a grant from the U.S. Embassy's Public Affairs Section. The photograph is from the December 10 Opening Reception.
