U.S. Embassy Sponsors Presentations On How to Write a Good Resume

Thirty English teachers from the Faculty of Letters, National University of Laos, attended a presentation on How to Write a Good Resume conducted by Bangkok-based Information Resource Officer Davis Luella on August 30, 2005. A similar workshop was held at the American Center at the Lao-American College on September 1.

The presentation included tips for writing a resumes for those with both extensive and limited work experience, and guidance on how to explain periods when not working. During the presentations, students raised many questions, especially about how to write a cover letter, different resume styles, and appropriate formatting and font sizes.

Participants in the program at the American Center also received a tour of the Center and were introduced to the 1,500 books, 40 periodicals, and nine computers ready for use by visitors. The American Center is open to the general public from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday to Friday, and on Saturday mornings.
