US Embassy Participates in Provincial Drug Committee Forum in Vientiane

Phil Nervig addresses the forum on drug control in Vientiane, Laos

On August 1, Consular Officer Phil Nervig represented the U.S. Embassy at the opening of a four-day workshop on drug control and alternative development assistance in Vientiane.

The workshop brought together provincial drug control and treatment center officials from around the country.

The US works closely with the Lao government on drug control issues including crop substitution and alternative development assistance, legal and law enforcement training, and treatment and rehabilitation. [speech]
