Representative Betty McCollum Visits the Lao-American College

On December 22, Representative McCollum visited the Lao American College in Vientiane.  After a tour of the school, she met with a small group of students.  Asked how she got her start in politics, she said that a group of mothers had selected her to raise their concerns after her daughter was injured in a playground accident.  This led to a political career at the local, state, and then national level.  She urged the students to work hard and believe in themselves.
