Trails of Remembrance’ Exhibit

On May 18^th, the U.S. Embassy in Vientiane sponsored the official opening of an art exhibit titled “Trails of Remembrance: Sketches from the Samneua Art School” at Monument Books in Vientiane. The exhibition was open to the public from May 10-May 31^st.  All proceeds from sales of the work and donations will go to the Lao Academy of Fine Arts for historic preservation projects.

The Trails of Remembrance showcase presents recently rediscovered images from the 1960s and 1970s central to contemporary Lao art history, illustrating life beyond the war and endeavoring to preserve the daily life of Lao people during that monumental period of upheaval.
