Georgetown University Professor Discusses the Art and Science of International Negotiations

| Professor Casmir A. Yost speaks at Institute of Foreign Affairs |
Professor Casmir Yost of Georgetown University in Washington D.C. visited Laos from April 20-24 to conduct workshops on Advanced Negotiating Skills in Multilateral Diplomacy for the Junior Diplomat. Professor Yost spoke to audiences at the Institute of Foreign Affairs, the National Academy of Politics and Public Administration, and the National University of Laos, Faculty of Law and Political Science. The lectures and discussions covered the art and science of diplomatic negotiation skills, with particular attention to the critical pre-negotiation preparation stage and the best tactics for problem solving. Professor Yost is a Visiting Professor at the Georgetown School of Foreign Service and Senior Research Fellow with the Institute for the Study of Diplomacy. He previously served as the Director of the Institute for the Study of Diplomacy from March 1994 to July 2008.
