JPAC RECOVERY TEAMS DEPLOY TO THE LAO PEOPLE’S DEMOCRATIC REPUBLIC

HICKAM AIR FORCE BASE, HAWAII – Teams from the Joint POW/MIA Accounting Command, consisting of approximately 53 personnel, departed Hickam AFB Tuesday to conduct recovery operations in Laos. The four recovery teams will be excavating sites that include one ground loss and three aircraft losses associated with the Vietnam War. This is the 100th Joint Field Activity in Laos.

Evidence from all missions will be transferred to the JPAC Central Identification Laboratory for further analysis and identification.
