JPAC Donates Vehicles to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs

LTC Wade Owens and Mr. Phoxay Khaykhamphithone sign the official Vehicle Transfer Memorandum For Record at Inter Auto Repair

In an informal ceremony on June 15, the Joint POW/MIA Accounting Command (JPAC), Detachment Three transferred five 2002 model Mitsubishi Pajero sport utility vehicles (SUVs) to the Lao Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA). The ceremony was held at Inter Auto Service Repair, where the Pajeros have been maintained and serviced by the United States Government.

The transfer of the five Pajeros, which have been part of the POW/MIA mission since 2002, continues the tradition of enhancing diplomatic ties between Laos and the United States and builds on the “One Team One Mission” model of success for joint recovery operations for missing American service members.

After signing the Memorandum For Record, LTC Wade Owens presents Mr. Phoxay Khaykhamphithone with the ceremonial key.
Presiding over the ceremony were LTC Wade Owens, Commander of Detachment Three, and Mr. Phoxay Khaykhamphithoune, Director of the America’s Division, Lao MFA. Also in attendance were LCDR Troy D. Carr, MSgt Charles Giddens, and SSgt Kham Pham representing JPAC, Mr. Savath Davongsone and LTC Khamfone Chaleunphonmixay representing the Lao POW/MIA team, and Mr. Phen representing Inter Auto Repair Service.
