Faculty of Engineering’s students learn about our Endangered Planet | Students at the Faculty of Engineering watching the movie “Endangered Planet : the Environmental Cost of Growth” | On November 26, 2008, the U.S. Embassy Vientiane Information Resource Center and the Faculty of Engineering of the National University of Laos hosted a documentary film showing at the Faculty’s library for more than 70 students and teachers. The movie “Endangered Planet: the Environmental Cost of Growth” discusses the impact of smog, oil spills, soil contamination, DDT, and how the technological revolution has exacted a high price: one ultimately paid by our environment. “Endangered Planet” explores the sad truths resulting from the collision between economic development and the natural order, and reveals why industry was allowed to ravage the earth virtually unchecked.
