On January 28, 2009, the U.S. Embassy Vientiane and the Library of the Faculty of Engineering, National University of Laos, organized a video showing of the English learning program Connect with English. In these episodes, Rebecca Casey dreams of becoming a musician or a song writer, and she applies to several music schools and colleges in the U.S.  At the end of Episode 4, Rebecca receives good news: the San Francisco school of music hires her to work as a performer and song writer.

This ongoing collaboration between the U.S. Embassy and the Faculty of Engineering helps Lao students who are learning English at the beginning and intermediate levels by developing their vocabulary and listening comprehension skills. The Information Resource Center of the U.S. Embassy will host showings of, Connect with English, on a regular basis at the both the Faculty of Engineering and at Sisattanak High School.
