Sisattanak Students “Connect with English”

On February 19, 2009, the U.S. Embassy Information Resource Center (IRC) and Sisattanak High School organized a video showing of the English learning program Connect with English. In these episodes, a young woman dreams of becoming a musician or a song writer, and she applies to several music schools and colleges in the United States. At the end of Episode 4, she receives good news: the San Francisco School of Music hires her to work as a performer and song writer.

This was the IRC’s third film event at this school, and nearly 150 students and teachers participated.

This ongoing collaboration between the U.S. Embassy and Sisattanak High School helps Lao students who are learning English at the beginning and intermediate levels to develop their vocabulary and listening comprehension skills. The IRC will continue to host showings of Connect with English on a regular basis at Sisattanak High School and the Faculty of Engineering.
