Test your knowledge!  Students quizzed on Black History Month at the American Corner

The Public Diplomacy Section of the U.S. Embassy, Vientiane organized an “African-American History Month Exhibition” at the American Corner, Lao-American College, Vientiane on February 13, 2009.

The exhibition displayed information about the lives and contributions of a number of significant African-American citizens in various fields (Barack Obama, Martin Luther King Jr., Louis Armstrong, Ella Fitzgerald, Michael Jordan and Tiger Woods).

The exhibition was well attended by Lao-American College students and staff members, who enjoyed listening to jazz music, watching a recording of President Obama’s inaugural speech, and answering quiz questions from the display. The booklet Barack Obama, 44^th President of the United States, translated into Lao, was distributed to all interested participants.

This exhibition was one in a series of cooperative activities between the U.S. Embassy and the Lao-American College.
