On 4 December 2008, the U.S. Embassy Vientiane Information Resource Center and Sisatanak High School organized a film showing for the video “Walt Disney World”. This was the IRC’s second film event at this school, and nearly 100 students and teachers participated.

The movie “Walt Disney World” showcases the behind-the-scenes efforts to build and maintain the colorful displays, rides, and equipment in the magical place, with its animated storybook characters, majestic castles, thrilling rides, and colorful parades. For many years, the Walt Disney World has welcomed and entertained kids of all ages, cultures, and backgrounds. However, running the park requires a thorough understanding of science, math, and technology, as well as thousands of hours of work from technical staff and maintenance crews. Students learned about the modern technology used in the park, how engineers design and test the facilities, and why the place is such an icon of American culture.
