Education Advising
U.S. Embassy in Vientiane offers free and unbiased student advising services for students interested in pursuing educational opportunities in the United States. The Embassy’s EducationUSA Center is located in the Information Resource Center of the Public Diplomacy Section on Rue Bartholonie near That Dam.
EducationUSA offers a collection of educational advising materials from a variety of U.S. based institutions, and also offers prospective students Internet access in order to search for additional information on universities and colleges in the United States. EducationUSA also provides information on scholarships sponsored by the U.S. Government as well as scholarships and grants provided by other private foundations. EducationUSA has the latest books and CDs to help students prepare for entrance exams, such as TOEFL, GRE, GMAT, SAT and others. Advising services are offered to groups or to individuals, in person, by email or by phone.
Advising services are occasionally offered at the American Corner, located at the Lao-American College, Vientiane Capital; and at the Lao-American Reading Corner, located at the Luang prabang Public Library, Luang prabang province.
